  • At Hospital

    Kara has been admitted and is currently in surgery. I am sitting in the family surgical waiting room.
    I could use a cup of coffee right now. I just realized the etiology of the skeleton crew staff. Today is like a
    holiday. It is really sparse here.
    We the families are actually answering the phone when it rings back here.
    It has been a really strange day so far.

  • Happy Fourth!

    My neighbor made me smile. He bought lots of flags and put two in each of our yards up and down the street and around the corner.
    It is very festive over here. The smells of whatever they are grilling is amazing. The music is oldies from 60-80's. Fireworks.
    Neighborhood celebrating freedom.
    I joked with the children that the world is celebrating my birthday a day late.
    It has been a good day for me. I actually slept... maybe 10 hours of much needed sleep. I got up today at noon.. I don't do that ..Ms. Hyper is up with the sun.
    I feel better and rested and ready to deal with being at the hospital while Kara is in surgery. I feel less helpless and more like God really is in control. More at peace.

  • Very Tiny Mini Update:

    A lot has been happening. Life in pictures if I have time to upload. Ronnie still doesnt have a job.
    I had surgery on June 4th. My eldest child twin has been very ill for months. She is having gallbladder surgery early on Monday Morning.
    That is all for now. I need sleep!

    I am overwhelmed, I am praying for the peace of God to flood my soul!

  • My Saturday:

    Ronnie,me and the 4 youngest went to the new playground first thing this morning.
    We played on the new equipment. Noah is an amazing rock wall climber. He has some natural athletic prowess?
    We went on a short hike. Jesse got tired of walking and asked to be carried. Poor little guy. Currently the Shortest of our Band of Runners.
    We frequently find treasures. I allowed Noah and Sam to pick blackberries and Sam found bird feathers. Ronnie found some 10 penny nails. I admired all of the beautiful wildflowers.
    I took an extended trip to the grocery store for supplies for dinner. It was so hard to leave a cold store on such a hot hot day. I purchased cheese for my lasagna. I made 2 pans. One for today and one for tomorrow. Today's was meaty. Tomorrow's will be veggie with gluten free lasagna so I may eat some too.
    My garden is growing well.

    Thank You God for such a beautiful day!

  • My Tuesday

    Hot,hot,hot day again. It rained and it cooled down briefly.
    Today I spent time trying to prepare for our family birthday party for David tomorrow. He will be 15.
    Kayla volunteered at DT today. Daniel, Samuel and Noah attended the camp today. Noah actually behaved for the most part of it. I was unsure because he isn't 4 yet and you just never know with Noah. Both little boys came home describing their adventures of the day.
     Jesse and I had fun playing cars and other little games. We were going to the library for story time but I changed my mind at the last minute and decided to do more laundry.
    Some days I feel so no productive with the heat. I spend so much time sitting and drinking water.
    I have projects to do but no energy. I feel so behind on little things.

    PONDERING:
    I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.

  • Update on Our Life

    Kara and Kayla are my first homeschool graduates CLASS of 2010. They will both attend community college in the fall.

    We have been overwhelmingly busy. I haven't had any time to journal. Most of my journal has been via pictures to my facebook account and mostly to remember things I couldn't bear to forget or. Notes to self.
    This was the first school year that we were involved with our church affiliated Private school. The girls ran cross country. David ran also. He played basketball, which we found out he loves and has a God-given agility for and flag football.
    Kara broken her leg last fall. She gradually healed over the winter. Started have stomach pains in February or March. We figured from the NSAIDs she lived on from the pain of the breaks. She was given ulcer strong ulcer meds, but has contiune to have stomach pains. She has been referred to a gastroenterologist. He performed an EGD(upper endoscopy) procedure on her on Thursday. We found out she has duodenal narrowing. We are awaiting scheduling for a barium swallow. Next visit with the GI doctor we will find out what to do for Kara.
    All of the children are growing taller.
    Kayla is a volunteer again this summer for Dancing Together, a free dance program for disadvantaged youth.
    I have been really ill. I was tested for Celiacs but it was negative and I refused to eat enough of gluten containing foods to get a positive result. So I mostly eat gluten free foods. I recently, like 9 days ago had endometrial polypectomy, they were all benign Praise THE LORD!!!
    After my "new" Nikon Coolpix had an early and untimely demise, I learned how to use my cellphone camera.
    My DH was laid off in February he is currently in pursuit of gainful employment. His thyroid issues are stable with him on the meds for it.
    Daniel was diagnosed with having Autism this school year. We also have him on special diet and he seems to be doing SO MUCH Better!!
    Samuel is doing well learning to read. He is such a small little boy. Noah was diagnosed as having sensory integration dysfunction or SI. He is my child that will scream if you touch him and covers his ears at "ordinary" or common noises. He has issues with textures of foods, clothing, and other things.
    Jesse is a very precocious rough and tumble very busy little boy. We are currently working on potty training. When I explained the process to him, he said no thank you I will just wear my diapers.
    Our animals are well.
    I am currently in the process of working on lesson plans for the fall. We are going to continue math through the summer and summer reading programs with the public library. We found some free movies offered once per week also.  Free bowling for some of the children. Looking for inexpensive places to swim and a way to have a vacation on little to no funding. I also have interior house painting I have been working on. I  want to finish painting before the end of June 2010.
    Ronnie and I had christian marriage counseling and are doing better than we have in years!!

  • Identity is discovered through the voice we listen to.

    We have all been created to be defined by a Fathers voice.

    Every girl is made to hear those words, "You are beautiful" and every boy is designed to hear the words "well done."

  • Psalm 147

    Psalm 147

     1 Praise the LORD. [a]
           How good it is to sing praises to our God,
           how pleasant and fitting to praise him!

     2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem;
           he gathers the exiles of Israel.

     3 He heals the brokenhearted
           and binds up their wounds.

     4 He determines the number of the stars
           and calls them each by name.

     5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
           his understanding has no limit.

     6 The LORD sustains the humble
           but casts the wicked to the ground.

     7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving;
           make music to our God on the harp.

     8 He covers the sky with clouds;
           he supplies the earth with rain
           and makes grass grow on the hills.

     9 He provides food for the cattle
           and for the young ravens when they call.

     10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,
           nor his delight in the legs of a man;

     11 the LORD delights in those who fear him,
           who put their hope in his unfailing love.

     12 Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem;
           praise your God, O Zion,

     13 for he strengthens the bars of your gates
           and blesses your people within you.

     14 He grants peace to your borders
           and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.

     15 He sends his command to the earth;
           his word runs swiftly.

     16 He spreads the snow like wool
           and scatters the frost like ashes.

     17 He hurls down his hail like pebbles.
           Who can withstand his icy blast?

     18 He sends his word and melts them;
           he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.

     19 He has revealed his word to Jacob,
           his laws and decrees to Israel.

     20 He has done this for no other nation;
           they do not know his laws.
           Praise the LORD.
