Thoughts on Dating:
It seems commonplace amongst "Christians" and everyone alike to allow dating amongst teens.
What is the purpose for this? Do the parent set guidelines? Do they allow the teens to spend time alone?
Are they compromising to appease their child? Or do they actually believe it's harmless and innocent?
Do any parents have conversations with there teen/adult children telling the the dangers of spending time alone with someone too much.
You can "fall in love" with anyone whom you spend enough time with. That is the purpose of a date night with your spouse, to stay connected and close to one another.I am confused at where people stand and if it is biblically based according to them?
I did not grow up Christian, but as a teen child I felt it inappropriate to be attached to a guy a girlfriend/boyfriend much to a young mans dismay. I thought at the time it was okay to go to the movies but quickly realized that guys are willing to take you out mostly for physical contact and if you don't, they move on. So I spent time with my circle of friend girls.
Once giving myself to God, I learned about avoiding appearances of evil. I want a good name and good reputation. So I try to avoid situations that look wrong because they usually are. Like riding in a car alone with some one to whom you are not married.
I don't think our present generation values purity much as a whole. They feel it is outdated or old fashioned or some people even really believe they will marry the person the give themselves to. People try to take ownership of people to whom they do not legally belong. It makes me feel queasy to hear of a young girl calling her boyfriend "My Man" or girls calling guys asking for dates.Is it as i feel' a sign of desperation or what is it? Please explain it to me. Also I have heard young people discussing STD's like it is normal to take drugs to rid them, instead of evaluating your life to discern the cause.
I hope and pray my children don't get sucked into this loss culture and do things they will later regret and can not take back.

Deuteronomy 6:7I believe last year i allowed my mind to be cluttered with well meaning ideas of others causing myself undue brain clutter. I am trying to cling only to God and let Him lead. I have graduating seniors this year and everyone feels that i should have things going a certain way. Usually their way. I only have peace when I keep my eyes on God. That is the way it should be.
I only want His best for my children. What ever that may be.
I sometimes feel I need guidance from veteran homeschoolers in aligning our homeschool with its true purpose!I have been thinking about a girls day out. Not a me time time but just a time to remember I am a woman and pampering.
